Why does my PC automatically restart everytime I try to repair the registry?



I’m running Windows XP and everytime I run Free Window Registry Repair 2.0, my PC automatically restarts! Even Norton 360 registry clean-up can’t start to touch my registry without the computer restarting. Any help is appreciated.
